Join a groundbreaking Multilingual Teacher Mentorship Pilot Program from December 2025 to June 2026! We are looking for multilingual teachers to serve as mentors to new teachers to expand, develop, and sustain a culturally and linguistically responsive teacher workforce in NYC Public Schools. The application for the spring 2026 cohort of the NYC Extended Certification Program is now open! This program offers opportunities for eligible, current NYCPS teachers to work towards an additional certification in either Bilingual Education or Students with Disabilities. This spring’s program will offer:

• A Students with Disabilities (SwD) certification for teachers who already possess a bilingual extension;
• A bilingual extension for teachers who already possess a SwD certification; or,
• A bilingual extension for teachers at a school on the NYCPS-approved bilingual programs list.

Principals are encouraged to share the application with interested teachers directly; teachers should apply by December 1. Refer to the Extended Certification Program FAQs for more information or email extendedcert@schools.nyc.gov. For all other staffing-related questions, contact HIRE Connections.
