[Deadline: November 30] Apply to Become a Multilingual Teacher Mentor 

Join a groundbreaking Multilingual Teacher Mentorship Pilot Program from December 2025 to June 2026! We are looking for multilingual teachers to serve as mentors to new teachers to expand, develop, and sustain a culturally and linguistically responsive teacher workforce in NYC Public Schools. [Deadline: December 1] Extended Certification Program Application for Spring 2026

The application for the spring 2026 cohort of the NYC Extended Certification Program is now open! This program offers opportunities for eligible, current NYCPS teachers to work towards an additional certification in either Bilingual Education or Students with Disabilities. This spring’s program will offer: 

  • A Students with Disabilities (SwD) certification for teachers who already possess a bilingual extension; 

  • A bilingual extension for teachers who already possess a SwD certification; or, 

  • A bilingual extension for teachers at a school on the NYCPS-approved bilingual programs list. 

Principals are encouraged to share the application with interested teachers directly; teachers should apply by December 1. Refer to the Extended Certification Program FAQs for more information or email extendedcert@schools.nyc.gov. For all other staffing-related questions, contact HIRE Connections

[Deadline: December 5] Share Application for Student Apprenticeship Program

You are encouraged to share the translated flyer for the Multilingual Learner Apprenticeship Program with multilingual learners in high school. Through this program, students will work with professionals and peer leaders to build and design projects centered on waste and composting. Students will share their work during two large-scale events in May. This program runs throughout the Spring semester from February 24 to May 24, 2026. Orientation will take place on February 10 and 11, 2026. Interested students should apply by December 5

[Deadline: December 5] Share Application for Student Apprenticeship Program

Middle and high schools serving multilingual learners/English language learners (MLs/ELLs) are invited to apply to GenConnect for the school year 2025-2026 by December 19. Applications must be submitted by principals or their designees. This eight-week program helps schools deepen family engagement, foster stronger connections between families and the school community, and celebrate the diversity of cultures and languages represented in schools through professional development. [Reminder - Deadline: December 1] Apply for the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) for 2026 Graduates

As in previous years, students may earn the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) as a diploma endorsement upon graduation, which recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. If your school is interested in participating in the NYSSB, your school is encouraged to complete this form by December 1
